Abstract
The rapid development of internet technology has become an opportunity by irresponsible individuals to abuse a digital image, for example taking copyrights belonging to other people and carrying out illegal distribution. Most of what is circulating on the internet is digital image where the owner of the image does not include ownership information, so that the digital image can be claimed by anyone as hers. Digital image copyright protection techniques are by means of watermarking that is inserting digital fingerprints in the form of digital images. There is watermaking which can be seen and some that cannot be seen by human senses. Watermaking is also able to withstand various attacks that intend to eliminate the information that has been inserted. The form of research conducted by researchers is a quasi-experiment with data collection techniques of literature studies, interviews and observations. The design method used is Rapid Application Development with several stages of application development, namely Business Modeling, Data Modeling, Pricess Modeling, Application Generation and testing using the BlackBox method. To answer the need for copyright protection, watermaking technology is used to protect copyright in data and information. The results of this design are watermark software. This software implements the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) method and is designed using Visual Basic.Net. Watermark software can do the watermarking process. The test results show that the watermark insertion and extraction process runs well so that it can protect the design of images from misuse of digital image.
